A hiker missing since Sunday has been found in the canton of Appenzell Inner Rhodes.

Cantonal police said the 33-year-old woman was found alive in the forest near Wasserauen.

REGA air rescuers provided medical attention, and flew her out of the area.

The woman reported herself injured when she called rescuers from her cell phone Sunday afternoon. 

She asked for help, but couldn’t say where she was. 

Efforts to trace her phone were unsuccessful.
