Football fans watching the UEFA championships in Lucerne last night clashed with each other and police.

Hundreds of fans followed games between Croatia and Spain, and Italy and Ireland at the Lucerne Culture and Congress Hall.

When Croatia lost its match, fans turned restless though police kept the different fan groups separated. 

Then fans turned on police leading officers to use water cannon and rubber bullets.

There were no injuries reported though there was property damage.
