Health insurance to go up 1.5 percent


Health insurance premiums will go up 1.5 percent on average next year.

That’s according to the federal office of public health.

It’s the second lowest increase in the past decade and works out at an extra 5.70 francs a month.

Premiums for young people will go up an average 3 percent.

That’s another 10 francs a month.

Parents will be able to save on their children though: their premiums will go down by 1.5 percent

The increases vary from canton to canton (see table below), with Jura seeing the biggest price hike at 3.2 percent.
