Cantonal police in Fribourg say five prisoners escaped yesterday from the jail in Bellechasse and they still have not been found.

The fugitives from France, Algeria and Georgia are considered by authorities to be “somewhat dangerous.”

Police say the men likely had outside help with their jailbreak, having cut through a fence and escaping in a waiting car.

The car was later found but the fugitives were not.

The investigation continues.
