Violent weekend winds brought by the Föhn weather phenomenon are still causing stress for communities in the Bernese Oberland left with much fallen timber.
The community of Adelboden, near Frutigen, sent out leaflets to the owners of timbered land, saying all trees should be cleared up or trimmed by the end of this month to head-off an infestation of bark beetles.
Municipalities and the canton are still in talks over who will pay for expedited clean-up.
Just around Adelboden it is estimated the storm left an Olympic swimming pool worth of damaged timber.
