An EU court has delivered a blow to Switzerland’s famous golden bunny, made by Lindt & Sprüngli. 

The court said the gold-foil bunny with a red ribbon was not distinctive enough to trademark. 

The European Court of Justice today stated it upholds a decision by EU authorities to reject the trademark request.

This decision overrules an Austrian court decision which prevented family-owned chocolate rival Hauswirth from making similar Easter bunnies.
