Swiss power plant Axpo is facing a fine of CHF 10,000, after two of its employees were exposed to radiation contamination in August.
The Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspection body opened criminal proceedings against the company to determine whether the incident was due to intentional or negligent breach of the Radiation Protection Act.
A spokesman for the inspectorate said the exposure, which is ranked 2 out of 7 in terms of seriousness, led the body to believe work is not well coordinated at the Beznau-based nuclear power plant in the canton of Aargau.
