Health authorities say another two people have died from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in Switzerland. The consdition, a form of ’mad cow disease’, has now caused 12 deaths this year in Switzerland.
In recent years, a new form of the disease, which strikes younger victims, was discovered in Britain and France.
So far, there has been no formal scientific proof that Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease can be transferred from animals to humans.
