Switzerland is set to swelter yet again today with temperatures well above 30 degrees for most of the country.
Yesterday the mercury was nearly 34 in Basel, 33 in Bern.
Even the chilly lakes have warmed up. The water in Lake Geneva is as warm as 25 degrees.
With the heat comes air pollution. Ozone exceeded acceptable levels across the plateau and in Ticino yesterday, but the heat wave pales in comparison to 2003.
Then Switzerland broke an all-time heat record when the mercury hit 41.5 degrees in Grono in the canton of Graubunden.
