The House of Representatives voted today to liberalize restrictions on TV ads for wine and beer. The government has urged parliament to approve the measure so that Switzerland can continue to get cinema promotion funds from the European Union. The change would allow broadcasters from neighboring countries who sell ad time for the Swiss market to run spots for beer and win, but the Senate still has still opted for a total ban on alcohol ads. Both houses have to agree.
