Canadian executive in Swiss custody

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has arrested Riadh Ben Aïssa, the former vice president of the Canadian Construction Giant SNC Lavalin.

He is accused, among other things, of money laundering—an operation that may have been linked to the Swiss financial sector.

Aïssa is believed to have close ties with the Gaddafi clan in Libya.

The arrest came following an investigation with Canadian authorities.
