It appears a criminal investigation against controversial Swiss People’s Party MP Christoph Blocher can proceed in connection to his part in the leak of bank data pertaining to former Swiss National Bank Chairman Philipp Hildebrand.
Blocher’s attorney has confirmed his client is dropping an appeal to the Federal Supreme Court claiming Zurich prosecutors were biased.
Zurich District Attorney Andreas Brunner told public television that investigators found “potentially relevant evidence” when Blocher’s home was searched.
A Zurich court last month threw out Blocher’s bias claim.
It appears a case against him for alleged violation of banking secrecy can proceed.
