Ten of 17 Aargau construction companies fined for price fixing are appealing to the Federal Administrative Court.

Aargau’s cantonal executive announced the appeal in a response to cantonal MPs, about possible losses the canton might have faced from companies conspiring on projects.

Officials say between 2006 and 2010, 67 public projects were involved in the price fixing scheme, but it is unclear if the canton incurred losses from the cartel. 

The opinion said the canton needed more information, but it currently did not see a reason to seek damages.

The Competition Commission fined the 17 companies four million francs for alleged price fixing.
