ABE: A cleaner, greener, phosphate-free Lake Geneva
Switzerland was quick to ban phosphates in laundry detergents over 25 years ago after people saw what it was doing to the nation’s famously sparkling clear lakes. Oddly enough, phosphates are still allowed in dish washing detergents—but more eco-friendly products are becoming available. ABE, the Consumer Show looks at how choosing phosphate-free cleaners improves the local aquatic life and what other commercial substances are threatening it:
