Zurich ombudsman says racial profiling of black men on rise
Racial profiling is said to be rising in Zurich. The city’s ombudsman, who fields public complaints about city services, says that last year there was an “excessive number” of such cases. These involve incidents where police question, search or detain young, black men — even after they have been checked for IDs. Zurich police say they do not condone racism but they do question more black men in areas of the city where the drug trade is controlled by black Africans. WRS’s Tony Ganzer reports on the issue:
