Why voters opt for the canton over the confederation
Though several cantons already have bans on smoking, the national smoking ban initiative failed to pass in last Sunday’s votes. WRS’s Alex Helmick asks Thomas Widmer, Chair of Swiss Politics in the department of political science at Zurich University, why Swiss voters tend to opt for the canton over the confederation:
