'We are all touched by cancer'
Today is World Cancer Day—a day to raise awareness of a disease that is ever more present in our lives. According to the latest figures from the World Health Organization, cancer took 7.6 million lives in 2008. And that figure is expected to almost double by 2030. This year, the official campaign will be centered on dispelling myths around cancer that prevent us from fighting it in the way we should. To discuss this, WRS’s Dave Goodman talks to Dr Christopher Wild. He’s the director of the International Agency for Cancer Research, an agency of the Geneva-based WHO:
