Union claims Merck exaggerating figures for possible job relocations
The union representing many workers at the Merck Serono headquarters in Geneva says the company has inflated the number of jobs posts that can be relocated. Merck Serono’s parent company announced the closure of the headquarters late last month, saying at least 500 people would lose their jobs and 750 would be relocated. However, the union UNIA says Merck’s other facilities cannot bring in 750 more people. WRS’s Alex Helmick speaks to UNIA spokesman Alessandro Pelizzari about the relocation figures released by Merck:
