Uber-patriotism marks People's Party rally
Switzerland’s general election is a mere six weeks away—and in the lead-up, WRS is taking the political temperature of the country, visiting party events large and small. On Saturday, several thousand supporters of the Swiss People’s Party came to the heart of Bern for what may be the largest political rally of the campaign season. It was the right-wing populist party’s so-called “Festival of the Family.” So what drives the party’s faithful? WRS’s Jordan Davis went to find out:

Some people may regard the SVP as extreme right anti foreigners and disagree with their principles, but interestingly there are a lot of foreigners who have lived in Switzerland for a long time who support the SVP. One of the reasons many foreigners left their country because it was changing, losing its identity. They do not want it to happen again in Switzerland.
With all the EU regulations,the US bullying the banks,the Swiss feel under attack.
I have also noticed how the SVP has given the Swiss people a platform from which to express themselves. Normally a passive people, they have now found a voice and are fed up being bullied and pushed around.
You may not like the SVP, but Switzerland needs strong leadership, with direction.
