Today's EU? Gone within 20 years, predicts British politician
Switzerland has become a beacon of hope for countries growing increasingly disgruntled with the direction of the European Union. The UK Independence Party, with 12 seats in Brussels, often cites Switzerland as example of how a country can have a successful economic partnership with the European Union without being a member. Party leader Nigel Farage was in Geneva yesterday to talk to the British Swiss Chamber of Commerce. WRS’s Dave Goodman caught up with Farage to find out more about his views on the EU. He began by asking what he admires so much about Switzerland:

very nice to hear some intelligence in politics, we now need one Nigel Farage per government world wide and we certainly would be living in peace…..
I think Switzerland probably pays a high price for their links with the EU. They will be bullied into accepting many laws that they may not want. It is too much of a compromise for the UK to be based on this model. While the EU exists, the policy for the UK should be to be completely independent from it. Otherwise you will get Labour and Conservative governments insisting on mad left wing pc policies in line with Europe.
There is only one way with the Eu and that is OUT
I totally agree with everything that Nigel says and, like him, I hope that it won’t be too long before we are out of it. He speaks so much sense and the UK needs more politicians like him. He has seen the small mindedness and the “gravy train” that is the European Parliament for so long, he has come to detest them all and I am sure we would feel the same if we had seen what he has.
