Teaching kids sex ed in the age of the Internet

In Switzerland, it’s estimated that a third of kids between the ages of 10 and 12 have been exposed to pornography—generally through the Internet. So what’s the right way to tackle the matter with them? Swiss psychologist Markus Theunert sparked controversy over the weekend when he suggested parents and teachers should be allowed to show pornography to kids, provided there’s an educational purpose. Does he have a point? To discuss this, WRS’s Jo Fahy talks to Philip Jaffé, a forensic psychologist and director of the Kurt Bösch Institute where he runs the children’s rights teaching and research unit:
