I am a small travel agency which works with Swiss Tour operators that organise Escorted tours and daily excursions throughout Switzerland.
Since I increased my prices by 20% and improved my website by making it easy to read and adding videos, I have had more bookings. Most of my bookings come from older clients and families from Australia, New Zealand and North America.Only a handful from Switzerland.
I get a lot of interest from India but never any bookings because they want to negotiate a price. Swiss Tour operators refuse to negotiate, which I agree with. Maybe Swiss Tourism should invest some money, by educating the Chinese, Indian and Brazalian Tour operators about how to work with Swiss Tour companies.
So the demand is there, but it depends on how you promote the tour and Switzerland, and this is the major problem with Swiss Tourism. Unfortunately, their budget is very small, but you have to make the most of that budget. As most other countries, Switzerland has to re-invent itself, and promote Switzerland in a different way.
The service has to improve, especially in the French part of Switzerland, it is embarrasing.
