Swiss pilot is youngest to circle the globe
Twenty-two-year-old Swiss Carlo Schmid has broken the world record for the youngest person to fly solo around the world. He touched down at the weekend, after a record-breaking 80-day trip. Schmid and his team also raised 50,000 francs for UNICEF with the flights, which will go towards a girls’ education project in India. The global route took years of planning and fundraising. WRS’s Jo Fahy spoke to him yesterday to see how it felt to have crossed the finishing line in his Round the World or RTW adventure:
