Swine flu not expected to be more deadly than seasonal flu
The H1N1 pandemic has begun making its presence felt in Switzerland. In recent days, three people have died from the virus, though all three had pre-existing medical conditions. Authorities count more than 4,500 confirmed cases in all. Meanwhile, the Federal Public Health Office is defending itself against criticisms that it’s botched the distribution of vaccines. It says Switzerland isn’t behind other countries when it comes to preparedness. WRS’s Carla Drysdale spoke to Dr. Virginie Masserey from the public health office, and asked her just how deadly the pandemic could be:
