Spiritual quests a deliberate endeavor atop Swiss Alps
Many people dream of leaving civilisation behind and getting away from it all. Few put their dreams into practice. But a community of Hindu monks living in a side valley of the Centovalli in canton Ticino have found one of the most secluded spots in Switzerland for contemplation and meditation. Centuries ago, farmers built a few houses up here for use during the summer months in a settlement that sits a two-hour walk from the main road. WRS’s Vincent Landon reports:
