Naming Federer an honorary ambassador
Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer heads into the U.S. Open tournament today on a five-match winning streak—and as world number one following his triumph at Wimbledon earlier this year. His recent prowess has got some suggesting that his home country should give him some more official recognition. One national parliamentarian, Liberal party member Fathi Derder, recently suggested he might be named as an honorary ambassador. WRS’s Catherine Allen got in touch with Derder to ask him why:
