Report finds abuse by aid workers still a problem
When a report in 2002 by Save The Children UK and the UN High Commission for Refugees highlighted abuse of vulnerable people by humanitarian workers in West Africa, there was a huge outcry. A report into the scale of sexual exploitation and abuse by aid workers has now been released by the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership, or HAP, based in Geneva. WRS’s Conor Lennon discusses the report with Katharina Samara from HAP as well as Manisha Thomas from the International Council of Voluntary Agencies, also based in Switzerland:

i would suggest that right after being grateful for folk volunteering as aid workers a complete background investigation be done. it is a too bad thing.
