Probing price disparities at the pump
2012 looks set to be a record year for petrol prices in Switzerland. According to the Swiss Petroleum Association, the average price per litre of lead-free is CHF1.81. That’s a lot more than last year’s figure at CHF1.73 per litre on average. Last week, the Tages Anzeiger reported that drivers in Zurich are feeling the pinch more than anyone. There, prices can vary by as much as 7 cents even across pretty short distances. WRS’s Dave Goodman talks to Rolf Hartl, president of the Swiss Petroleum Association, which represents petrol importers and retailers:
