U.S. motion picture association disputes TV 'replay' function
A dispute between the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and Swiss cable operators over the “replay” function. Access to American television shows and movies may be more limited to viewers in future. The conflict arises over cable operators repeating content after it has already been broadcast for a certain period of time. The contract between the MPAA and cable operators runs out at the end of this year, and negotiations have broken down. It is now at the Swiss Federal Arbitration Committee.
