Merck unionist: 'Unia...really pushed us to act'
It’s been almost a month since pharma giant Merck Serono announced the closure of its Geneva headquarters, leaving little time for employees to come up with solutions to save their jobs. But staff didn’t admit defeat and following intense campaigning, they persuaded management to extend the consultation period by two weeks, until the beginning of June. But it seems negotiations are only just starting. To get some news from the front line, we’re joined this morning by one of the elected representatives of the staff here in Geneva. Lilian Willner talks to WRS’s Pete Forster:
