Merck Serono employees propose alternatives to closure
Merck Serono employees are creating alternatives to the closure of the pharmaceutical company’s headquarters in Geneva. Employees at the General Assembly of the staff discussed ways to keep current jobs in Switzerland, possible spin-off or start-ups, and improving the social plan for those let go. Merck Serono’s parent company announced last month it planned to close the Geneva headquarters laying off at least 500 people and possibly relocating 750 more. Alex Helmick talks with staff representative Hubert Godinot, who says he expects a resolution by the end of June.
