Leap second puts a wrench in the clockworks
The world’s timekeepers, meeting in Geneva, have postponed a decision on whether to abolish the leap second. Delegates at the International Telecommunications Union meeting say they need more time to think about the one-second adjustments to world clocks that keep them in sync with the Earth’s rotation. WRS reporter Vincent Landon reports on a day of high drama for the leap second:
