Juggling festival puts lots of balls in the air

Balls, pins, swords and sticks-on-fire will be flying this weekend. The 23rd annual Swiss Juggling Festival is in La Chaux-de-Fond, just outside of Neuchâtel. The free festival will feature up to 500 jugglers, trapeze acts and ribbon performers. Visitors to the event can take part in several workshops to learn how to do some circus acts. Reporter Alex Helmick went to La Chaux-de-Fond for a little “juggle-about.”

Roman Winiger practices his juggling skills at the 500-seat theatre in La Chaux-de-Fond. The 23rd Swiss Juggling Festival starts Friday, June 12, 2009 with up to 500 acts coming to the small town just outside Neuchâtel. (WRS/Alex Helmick)
