Insurance against a rainy vacation?
What if you could insure yourself against a rainy vacation? The company Elvia is offering exactly that, with rules and exception of course. A 50 franc premium could payout up to 100 francs a day depending on the destination. This also depends on rainfall—so if in London, it would have to rain 10 millimeters, while in Valencia, at least three millimeters would have to fall. WRS’s Alex Helmick speaks to Pierre Eckert, from the nation’s forecaster MeteoSwiss, about this unusual insurance:
