Indie watchmakers showcase movements, defiance
Switzerland’s first independent watch fair opened in Geneva, Sunday. Nearly 40 exhibits showcase the artistry of watchmaking. But small independent companies are often the first to go when bad financial fortunes hit. So has the industry felt the impact of the economic crisis? And what about the recent news that a big watchmaker was going to stop selling parts to smaller rivals? Reporter Alex Helmick has more.
