Hurricanes and typhoons continue to hit coastal areas
News of heavy storms, and possible flooding, is brewing as two typhoons, Bolaven and Tembin, are presently making their way through the South China Sea. Also Hurricane Isaac is set to soon hit the gulf region of the U.S, after battering regions of the Atlantic, including Haiti, where flooding was heavy. WRS’s Alex Helmick asks Dr. Koji Kuroiwa, chief of the Geneva-based World Meteorological Organization’s Tropical Cyclone Program division, whether this has been a particularly stormy season:
