How Vietnamese parties and endangered species are linked
With a rising demand from Asian countries, the trade of ivory and tiger parts is booming—although it is absolutely illegal in most countries of the world. According to the WWF, 2011 was probably the deadliest year on record for elephants in Africa. And as the situation spirals out of control, rhinos may soon go extinct on the continent. They’ve published their “wildlife crime scorecard” to coincide with a major international meeting on endangered species, currently happening in Geneva. WRS’s Pete Forster talks to Colman O’Criordain from the WWF international:
