How the Swiss waste a third of their food
One third of the food that could be eaten in Switzerland does not make it to hungry mouths. For the first time here, two new studies detail where that food is going, and in fact it is ordinary folks that are responsible for much of the waste. Nearly half of the wasted food is in fact thrown out by consumers who put it in their trash at home. WRS’s Jordan Davis talks to João Almeida, who studied the issue at the University of Basel:
