Lausanne doping lab says Lance Armstrong test possibly suspicious
Allegations surrounding Lance Armstrong continue as the United States investigates the retired American cycling legend and doping in his sport. Martial Saugy is the head of the Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analyses in Lausanne, the lab that tested samples in the Tour de Suisse in 2001. Saugy informs WRS’s Alex Helmick that he was told by the International Cycling Union a year after the race that Armstrong, who has vehemently denied ever resorting to doping, had “possibly” one of four suspicious EPO results from the event:

Unfortynately, because nothing was done about said supicious results the story amounts to hearsay; not to imply what was said was not true, but it’s value cannot be determined and that many anti-Lance persons will wind up taking the report out of context as further “proof” against him. If he has been an honest sportsman he has been given a great injustice by such hearsay.
The paragraph above distorts the overall tenor of the interview, which was much more “pro Armstrong” than this would suggest.
