FIFA appoints top U.S. attorney to investigate corruption
World football’s governing body FIFA has appointed a special prosecutor to examine corruption in the ranks of the powerful sports body. FIFA director Sepp Blatter announced that former U.S. attorney Michael Garcia will investigate past allegations of corruption including claims about the naming of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
