Europop bounces its way into American hearts and headphones
When it comes to the United States and Europe, some things just don’t seem to translate. One of these has been Europop—you know the kind of songs you hear pumping out of Mediterranean discos all summer long— bouncy dance beats, soaring synthesizers and cheesy choruses. Yet after years of disdain, Americans finally seem to be embracing the Euro-beat. Switzerland, of course, is home to a fair number of Europop stars, including one of the most enduring— DJ Bobo.
