City dwellers underrepresented says Swiss union
The Swiss political system is outdated and unfair for the nation’s city dwellers, claims the Union of Swiss cities. They cite new demographic research that says that 80 percent of the workforce live in cities and 85 percent of the nation’s wealth is generated in urban centers. Yet at the federal and cantonal level, the vote of a city dweller just does not carry the same weight as their country cousins.
