Canton of Vaud hit by increasing break-ins and robberies
Break-ins and armed robberies have doubled in the last year in the canton of Vaud. Overwhelmed, police told shop owners they would help those who help themselves. However, shop owners and their clients are now saying that it is the law that has got to change, not the police. WRS’s Lucas Chambers visits downtown Lausanne to talk to those affected by the recent rise in crime:

Why aren’t we allowed to shoot them when they break into our homes and shops? If they know they will risk their life, they will think twice before doing it. And plus, we can thin the herd.
As much I would be okay with shooting them when entering my property, there is the issue of escalation where as a mininum, these thugs would be heavily armed and will overmatch the people they are robbing who will most likely not have firearms in their residences.
