Business English: an assault on language (or worse)?
What exactly is “business English?” For some, it means staying polite in a boardroom meeting. For others, it is an intensive language course where you learn phrases like “I’ll put you through” or “best regards.” But there are also those in Switzerland who see in it a creeping threat, not only to linguistic and cultural diversity but even to our very sense of social values. Reporter Lucas Chambers met with one of them and filed this report:
