Cantons competing to attract multinational companies by giving them tax breaks is nothing new. But it’s been revealed just how far they go—and it may come as a bit of a shock. The Federal Audit Office has released figures that have sparked tensions between cantons, within the Social Democratic party and which could even affect tax talks between the EU and Switzerland.
