'Ballooning is my passion'
Ballooning enthusiasts from across the world are in Château-d’Oex right now for the annual festival which this year is celebrating its 35th birthday. Participants from 20 countries are taking part. Brian Jones launched his record breaking round the world balloon flight with Switzerland’s Bertrand Piccard from Château-d’Oex in the late ’90s. He has returned to the festival many times and this year is working on a new project to widen the accessibility of ballooning to disabled people. WRS’s Dave Goodman spoke to him and began by asking him what’s so special about the event:
