As electric bike sales boom, accidents ramp up
Sales of electric bikes or e-bikes are booming in Switzerland so it’s perhaps no surprise that the number of e-bike accidents also appears to be on the rise. The canton of Zurich is the first to publish its traffic accident statistics for 2011. Police say that across the canton but excluding the cities of Zurich and Winterthur there were 24 accidents involving e-bikes last year, three times as many as in 2010. WRS’s Vincent Landon has more:
