Amnesty hopeful Eurovision will push Azerbaijan towards democracy
This week Amnesty International published its latest report which highlights an increased crackdown on protest and freedom of speech in Azerbaijan since March this year when the Arab Spring threatened to head eastwards. Amnesty has called on the international community not to turn a blind eye to the repression taking place under the Aliyev regime in Azerbaijan. John Dalhuisen is a Europe and Central Asia expert for Amnesty, who talks to WRS’s Dave Goodman:
