Ailing Logitech needs new game plan as profit plummets
There was a time the name Logitech was a symbol of Swiss success in a global market for computer gadgets dominated by the U.S. and Asia. Logitech made some of the best mice around, and it made billions of dollars. But times have changed. Yesterday the company, based near Morges in canton Vaud, announced a 44 percent drop in net profits for the last year. And the three years previous weren’t much better. What happened, and what now needs to happen, to turn things around? WRS’s Lucas Chambers asked Andreas Mueller, a senior technology analyst for the Zurich Cantonal Bank:
