NHL hockey dispute could lure stars to Swiss league
One league’s crisis is another’s triumph—at least temporarily—in this case. We’re talking about the National Hockey League or NHL in North America which is in the middle of a labor dispute that has caused a work stoppage. Some hockey stars looking to keep sharp and make some cash are choosing the Swiss league. According to several media outlets, stars like Joe Thornton and Rick Nash are headed to Davos. And a hometown boy returns. New York Islanders captain Mark Streit comes back to play for SC Bern. WRS’s Alex Helmick talks to Sven Leuenberger, the General Manager of SC Bern:
